KHICHADI
Cooking time : 2-21/2 hours
Ingredients :
Rice and dal mix : 1 cup
water : 21/2 Cups
Salt, turmeric powder, oil mustard seeds, asafetida, chilies
according to taste.
Method : Clean and wash the rice-dal mix thoroughly. Heat
the oil in a separate vessel. When the oil is hot, add the mustard seeds and the chilies. When the mustard seeds begin
to splutter, add the assafoetida and
immediately pour over the rice-dal. Add salt, turmeric powder and water.
Keep the container in the Surya Cooker. If you are using tuver dd, let the
khichadi cook for another 30 minutes.
